Grigor Dimitrov is seed No 7 of the main draw of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year in New York. On Tuesday Dimitrov will play world No 210 Vaclac Safranek from the Czech Republic, who entered the main draw after playing the qualifications. The potential second round opponents of the Bulgarian are Aljaz Bedene of Great Britain and Andrey Rublev of Russia. The first seeded player who Dimitrov could meet is No 31 Pablo Cuevas of Uguguay. Grigor Dimitrov is the first quarter of the draw which is lead by No 1 Rafael Nadal.

Last year Grigor Dimitrov reached the fourth round of US Open where he lost to then No 2 Andy Murray.

Grigor Dimitrov won his first Masters title after beating the Australian Nick Kyrgios 6-3 7-5. This is Dimitrov's 7th ATP Tour title and 3rd title for the year after Brisbane and Sofia.

“I'm just happy. There's nothing else I can say, honestly. I'm just happy and I'm humbled to have that trophy in my hands, and especially to win here, my first Masters 1000. It's just amazing. I always like this tournament. I have played it quite a few times and always thought this can be maybe one of the first ones, and it is the first one,” Dimitrov said.“Going to the Open, it's for sure a lot of positivity with it, but the most important thing now is just to stay grounded, keep on doing the same work, believe in myself, and just prepare the best way that I can for the Open.”

The Bulgarian added 1000 ranking points and gained $954,225 of the prize money.In the Monday's ATP Ranking Dimitrov moved to number 9 ahead of Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic.

In the Race to London ranking which is based on the points earned in 2017 Grigor Dimitrov is now number 6 and had good chances to be in Top 8 by November and make is debut in the ATP Finals in London.

Without losing a set in Cincinnati, Grigor Dimitrov reached the biggest final of his career after two hours battle against John Isner 7-6(4) 7-6(10). Dimitrov saved three set-points before clinching the win on his third match point.

On Sunday clash for the title Dimitrov will face the Australian Nick Kyrgios who will also play his first Masters final.

Grigor Dimitrov advanced to the semifinals of Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati after defeating the Japanese Yuichi Sugita 6-2 6-1. Seventh seed Dimitrov broke Sugita at the beginning of the first set and quickly reached 3-0 lead. In the second set Dimitrov broke twice and reached 5-0. He lost only 5 points on his serve and did not face and break points.

"It's a good feeling, for sure," said an elated Dimitrov in press. "It's a good feeling. I like playing in Cincinnati. I love that centre court, as well. I think all that brings me good memories and just a positive way of thinking when I come out there on the court.
"I think that was about it, to be honest. I didn't think I did anything spectacular except playing the game the right way today. Just glad to get off court for about an hour. Save some energy and prepare for tomorrow.
"It was just one of those days that you just had to adjust to the conditions. I just had to adjust a lot to the conditions. It was pretty swirly out there. I knew what I had to do against him. From the first point, I think I was on top of the game. That carried me on throughout the whole match."

On Saturday Grigor Dimitrov will play John Isner who is 2013 runner-up of the tournament. This is Grigor's 4th ATP Masters semi-final and will try to enter Masters final for the first time.

With the won points Grigor Dimitrov guaranteed Top 10 position and has can move No 9 if he wins at he semifinal.

In in the Race to London ranking Grigor Dimitrov goes No 8 ahead of Andy Murray.

After losing five times to ex world No 4 Juan Martin del Potro, the seventh seeded Grigor Dimitrov finally succeeded to beat him in the third round of the Cincinnati Masters 6-3 7-5.

“I spoke with my coach in the locker room after [the win], and I was, like, ‘Listen, I really needed that match.’ He was, like, ‘You know what? I kind of agree with you,’” Dimitrov said.“Yeah, I always wanted to, coming up the rankings, I always wanted to say that I want to beat all the players out there. That’s a goal of mine. Yes, slowly and surely I’m getting there. There [are] still a few guys that I haven’t conquered yet, but I believe in good times, good things will come.”

With this win Dimitrov almost secured his re-entry to Top 10.

In the quarterfinals on Friday Grigor Dimitrov faces No 46 Yuichi Sugita of Japan.

Grigor Dimitrov had to play a tough three sets match to advance to the third round of the ATP 500 Citi Open in Washington, D. C.. The 4th seeded Bulgarian beat Kyle Edmund of Great Britain 7-5 4-6 6-3.

In the third round on Thursday Grigor Dimitrov will play the 21-years-old Russian Daniil Medvedev. In the only match so far Dimitrov beat Medvedev in June this year in the quarterfinals of the grass tournament in London.
