Wild card holder Grigor Dimitrov lost his first round match of the $50K Challenger tournament in Khorat, Thailand with a result of 5-7 1-7 from the South African player Izak van der Merwe. The young Bulgarian will gain no ATP points and 520 USD of the prize money.

In the first round of the doubles tournament Grigor Dimitrov with his Thai partner Kittipong Wachiramanowong  will face Chris Giccione (AUS)/Marcio Torres (BRA).
