Excellent Start for Grigor at Indian Wells Masters. Plays Djokovic in 3rd Round

Grigor Dimitrov defeated Matthew Ebden of Australia in straight sets 6-4 6-4 in the second round of the ATP Masters in Indian Wells, California, USA. Dimitrov is Seed 31, for the first time is his career he is seeded player of ATP Masters tournament and started directly from the second round.

Grigor started the match by breaking Ebden's service game. Then on 4-2 the Bulgarian had a new break point which was saved. On Grigor's serve for the set on 5-4 Ebden reached a lead of 40-0 points but Dimitrov responded with 5 points in a row to save the game and close the set 6-4. The second set started with a long game with deuces and advantages, ultimately Grigor a break point to 1-0.With lead 3-1 Dimitrov missed another chance for breaking the game of Ebden. With a game to 0 on 5-4 the Bulgarian took the set and the match.

In the third round Grigor Dimitrov will play world No 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia. This will be their second match after the convincing win of Nole 6-3 6-2 at Shanghai Masters last year. This will also be a second time when Dimitrov will play against No 1 ranked player. Back in 2009 Dimitrov took a set but lost to Rafael Nadal in Rotterdam 5-7 6-3 2-6.

Dimitrov with partner Frederik Nielsen of Denmark Seed 6 Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (Pakistan) and Jean-Julien Rojer (The Netherlands) in the first round of the doubles tournament 7-5 7-5. In the second round the Bulgarian - Danish pair will play Ivan Dodig (Croatia) / Marcelo Melo (Brazil).
