Grigor Dimitrov Advanced to the Third Round in Paris after Beating Fognini
30 October 2013
Grigor Dimitrov defeated No 18 Fabio Fognini of Italy in the second round of the ATP Masters in Paris 6-3 5-7 6-2. This win was a revenge for the loss to the Italian in January in Sydney. Grigor Dimitrov gained 34'000 EUR for the win and his total prize money for the year is already over 1'000'000 EUR. Grigor must add more ranking points as the gained 90 points will not be enough to keep his 22nd position next Monday. He will have the chance to do it against Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina. In the second quarter-final at Masters level tournament in his career Dimitrov will face world No 5 Del Potro on Thursday afternoon. The Argentinian defeated Dimitrov in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in February 2013.
