Grigor Dimitrov played a weak match in the first round of Roland Garros in Paris, France. Jeremy Chardy of France easily defeated the Bulgarian in straight sets 6-2 6-4 6-4. Dimitrov was far from the best tennis he has shown so far while the play of Chardy was very steady.

For the first time in his professional career Grigor Dimitrov will participate in mixed doubles tournament. Grigor Dimitrov started in the first round of the ATP 250 tournament in Nice, France against Pablo Andujar of Spain but has to retire because of illness after only 19 minutes of play. Andujar quickly made a lead of 5-0 when Dimitrov decided to retire.
