After three previous first round losses at Roland Garros Grigor Dimitrov beat Stephane Robert 6-2 6-3 6-4 at the start of this years edition of the tournament. The 11th seed Bulgarian scored 35 winners including 8 aces, won all of the 6 break points and saved 8 of the 10 he faced.

12th seeded Grigor Dimitrov defeated world No 22 Ivo Karlovic of Croatia 6-3 7-5 and advanced to the third round of Madrid Masters. The next opponent of Dimitrov is eighth seeded and No 9 ranked Dominic Thiem of Austria. In the two matches played Thiem won in the quarterfinals in Acapulco in 2016 and Dimitrov beat the Austrian in Brisbane at the start of this season....
