Seed 1 Bubka/Stakhovsky Could Not Stop Dimitrov/Gabashvili to Reach Finals

Grigor Dimitrov and his doubles partner Teimuraz Gabashvili will play at the final of the 64'000 EUR ATP Challenger in Trnava, Slovakia. Dimitrov/Gabashvili defeated Seed 1 Sergei Bubka/Sergiy Stakhovksy in the semi-final in 3 sets 6-7(12) 6-4 [10-8]. By reaching the final Dimitrov and Gabashvili gain 48 ATP points and 2350 EUR of the prize money.

Grigor and Teimuraz will meet the Czech pair Jan Minar and Lukas Rosol in a match that will decide the doubles title. The match is scheduled for later on Saturday.

This will be a second final in doubles for Grigor Dimitrov in the Challenger tournaments of ATP. With Ilhan Marsel (Turkey) Grigor reached the final of American Express TED Cup in Istanbul in August 2009.

Grisha and Gabashvili (RUS) played the Trnava doubles final this morning, against Jan Minar (CZE) and Lukas Rosol (CZE). In a contest that took one hour and twenty minutes to decide, Dimi and Teimuraz took the first set 6-4, and then dropped the second set in a shocking 2-6. As the match went to a champion's tie-break, Grisha and Gabashvili went 9-7 ahead to give them two match points. Rosol and Minar saved the first, but couldn't save the second, and the final score was 6-4 2-6 10-8.

Grisha gains 80 doubles ranking points, and half of the 3950 euros prize money.
