Grigor Dimitrov defeated No 59 Ivan Dodig of Croatia,6-1 6-4in the first round of the Masters in Indian Wells, CA, USA. This is the first participation of Dimitrov at Indian Wells Masters, $5.5 mln prize money. And it is his first tournament participation with his new coach Patrick Muratoglu, the owner of the academy in Paris where Grigor is trained.

The head-to-head score between Grigor Dimitrov and the Croatian Ivan Dodig is 3-0 now after the wins in 2010 at Bangkok Challenger and in 2011 - again in Bangkok at ATP Tour level tournament.

The 25 ranking points that Grigor Dimitrov gained for passing to the second round will help him to come back to Top 100.

In the second round Dimitrov will have very tough task against David Ferrer of Spain. The No 5 rank Spaniard has 18 match wins and 3 titles this year. Last year atCincinnatiMasters Ferrer won the only match against Dimitrov so far in three sets 4-6 6-1 7-5. The second round match Dimitrov-Ferrer will be played on Sunday.
