In front of Bulgarian spectators Grigor Dimitrov showed great tennis but was defeated by the Belgian Steve Darcis, ATP Rank 97. The first set was decided with a tie-break, which Darcis took 7-6(5). In the second set Darcis reached 5-2 and it was too late for Dimitrov to change the result so he lost with a result of 6-7(5) 3-6.
Tihomir Grozdanov, the other Bulgarian in the main draw of Zagorka Tennis Cup, also lost his match later during the day and this way no Bulgarians will play in the second round of the singles.
The next tournament where Grigor Dimitrov will play with card in the main draw is the 85,000 EUR Challenger in Rhodes, Greece.
