Dimitrov Defeats Mahut in 3 set dramatic match

Grigor Dimitrov defeated Nicolas Mahut of France in the first round of the 50,000 USD ATP Challenger in Istanbul in a dramatic 3- set match. Nicolas Mahut won the first set 6-4. The next 2 sets reached tie-breaks where Dimitrov demonstrated his professionalism and steady nerves to win both - 4-6 7-6(1) 7-6(4).

This way Grigor passes to the second round where he will play another tough opponent - Martin Fischer of Austria, current ATP rank 189. The match is scheduled for Thursday, 13 August 2009. So far Dimitrov gains 5 ATP rank points and $860.
