On Saturday, 1 August 2009, Grigor Dimitrov starts against non-ranked Jose Eugenio Martinez-Alcalde of Spain in the first round of the qualifications of the 106,500 EUR ATP Challenger in Segovia, Spain. Dimitrov is seed 4 of the qualifications. If successful Grigor will meet either the Argentinian youngster Raul Guardia or the 487-ranked Brit Jonathan Marray.
