Seed 7 Grigor Dimitrov moved safely to the quarterfinals at Mexico Open after beating Donald Young of the USA in the second round 6-3 6-4. This was Grigor's fifth win against Young so far while the American has 2 wins. The Bulgarian needed one hour and 26 minutes to win the match as he won 78% of his first serve points and saved 7 of 8 break-points.

In the quarterfinals Grigor Dimitrov will play fourth seeded Dominic Thiem of Austria. This will be their first clash. The match is at 3 am CET on Friday.

"He's such a great entertainer. It should be a fun match to watch and a fun match for us too," said Thiem. "I hope that I will feel well tomorrow and I'm going to be fit, then I think it's going to be a great match."
