What is ahead for Grigor Dimitrov in 2023

31 Mar 2023
The tennis schedule is as frantic and frenetic as ever, with Grigor Dimitrov continuing to compete in various events around the world.

While we may not even have experienced just one full quarter of 2023 at the time of writing, the Bulgarian ace has already competed in five events so far, including the Australian Open where he reached the third round before being beaten from the eventual winner, Novak Djokovic.

Indeed, this competition will have many people looking for app betting sites as they will be looking to enhance their overall experience when watching two of the best players go head-to-head in one of the biggest tournaments of the Grand helmet.

Unfortunately for Dimitrov fans and the player himself, that was not to be, as the Serbian managed to win 7-6 (9-7), 6-3, 6-4 to see off the Bulgarian. However, there is still plenty of tennis to look forward to in 2023.

The Grand Slam is still to come

Of course, the highlights of the tennis schedule are undoubtedly the Grand Slam tournaments. While the Australian Open is now being played, there are still three others on the calendar that could give the 31-year-old a shot at success.

Once ranked as the No. 3 player in the world, Dimitrov can look forward to playing on the clay courts at the French Open. Unfortunately, Roland Garros doesn't seem to be too fair on him as he had perhaps his worst performances in this competition. His best finish was in the fourth round in 2020, as there were several tournaments where he was eliminated in the first or third round.

Wimbledon in the summer is a little kinder to the Bulgarian ace, as he managed to do much better on grass than on clay. Here he managed to reach the semi-finals, although it is worth noting that he last reached this stage in 2014. Since then, he has struggled to get past the first or second round in subsequent editions since reaching the last four.

The US Open will give Dimitrov another opportunity in 2023 to try to win a Grand Slam if he does not achieve it by September. This competition provided a number of mixed results, much like Wimbledon. In 2019, he managed to reach the semi-finals before being eliminated, but other performances saw him go home in the first or second round, while he managed fourth round appearances on occasion.

Will Grigor Dimitrov add titles to his collection?

Tennis players usually judge their careers by the success they have achieved when it comes to winning tournaments and lifting silverware. Since making his ATP debut in 2008, Dimitrov has enjoyed some success on the court, winning eight trophies.

In addition to the titles, it can be argued that he has had a successful career as he is believed to have amassed more than $22 million in prize money, making him 20th on the sport's all-time winnings list.

With a lot of tennis coming up in 2023, maybe he'll be able to add to each one.
