Grigor Dimitrov left the singles draw of Australian Open after loss in straight sets to Julien Benneteau of France 4-6 2-6 4-6. The Bulgarian started the match with a strong play and with early break reached 3-0 lead. But then Benneteau took the next 5 games to 3-5. Then both players took their service games to 4-6. The Frenchman took the second set after breaking the service games of Dimitrov twice. With 3-3 in the third set Benneteau won another break point to 3-4, then on 4-5 served for the match and won it.

Grigor Dimitrov continues his participation at Australian Open in the doubles tournament in partnership with Marcos Baghdatis, Cyprus. In the first round they will play Matthew Ebden (Australia) / Ryan Harrison (USA).

In today's ATP ranking Dimitrov stays at position 41.

The next single match of Grigor will be at Davis Cup in more than 2 weeks. The Bulgarian audience will watch Grigor Dimitrov playing on home courts at Bulgaria-Finland tie of Davis Cup, Group II, Europe-Africa, Round 1, in Sofia fom 1-4 February.
