Grigor Dimitrov is set to return to competitive action sooner than expected after accepting a wildcard entry for the Challenger 175 tournament in Aix-en-Provence. The event will take place from April 28 to May 3 at the Country Club Aixois.

The announcement was made through the tournament’s official social media channels, highlighting the significance of Dimitrov’s participation. Organizers described the former world No. 3 as a Bulgarian maestro and expressed their excitement at securing his presence with a wildcard, calling it a major privilege for the competition.

Dimitrov, a three-time Grand Slam semifinalist, will not be the only high-profile name in the draw. The tournament is set to feature a strong field that includes Cameron Norrie, João Fonseca, Zizou Bergs, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Botic van de Zandschulp, Reilly Opelka, Roberto Bautista Agut and Valentin Royer.

With a competitive lineup and Dimitrov’s early return to the court, the tournament in Aix-en-Provence is expected to attract significant attention in the lead-up to the main clay-court events of the season.
